Nigel Thorns BSc(Hons), DipTP, MRTPI obtained his professional qualifications at what is now the Birmingham City University between 1983 and 1987.
He was first employed in South Bedfordshire District Council and then relocated with his family to Yorkshire, working in Doncaster and Halifax (Calderdale).
In 1997 he and his family located in Shrewsbury and he worked in Walsall Borough and Birmingham City Council followed by a period in North Shropshire District Council.
The company was formed in September 2003 and quickly gained a reputation for its professional approach to problem solving in the wide ranging field of planning.
In 2005 Dawn Thorns joined the company in order to provide assistance in the area of administration and office management.
Nigel Thorns Planning Consultancy is an independent planning consultancy providing specialist advice on all aspects of the planning process. We have extensive planning and development experience, and Nigel is an accredited member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
